Looking to Spring with Fall Folk from The Greetery

Morning all!

I'm back on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today with a two-for-one card featuring a rather "unseasonal" stencil set from The Greetery.

Background layering stencil sets can be so versatile, just changing up the colours can give them a whole different look.

And that's definitely true for the Fall Folk layering stencils - originally intended for autumnal card projects, this folksy floral background is great all year round.

And as I have a bad track record of getting my Spring and Easter cards made in good time, the start of February means the start of Spring/Easter crafting for me!

Originally, I just wanted to give the background stencils a Spring makeover and add a simple sentiment from the Tear Strip Tags Spring Stamp set.

But as you can see, my brain had other ideas!

Once I'd created the background with a mix of fresh greens, pinks, powdery blue, and yellow, I had a sudden lightbulb moment.

Why not use the Ribbon Frame die and stencil bundle to create two cards from one floral background?

So here is card one:

I quickly blended another panel in blush pink and added a little splatter, then I cut the Ribbon Frame into the panels to two create two card bases.

I ink blended the green Ribbon Frame and used coloured cardstock for the blue Ribbon Frame, adding the stencilled details with darker ink shades.

To complete the Spring theme, I grabbed the Bunny Kisses die - it's a really handy set and just the right size for the Ribbon Frame - plus you get a flower and little Easter eggs as accents.

Top tip: Puffy paint is great for snowy scenes, but it's also a quick and easy way to add a fluffy tail to this bunny!

Before sticking the bunnies down, I quickly added the sentiments, and hey presto! Two cards made.

Wedding Wishes

Afternoon all!

Well today is a bit of a departure on the blog!

I'm sharing a special make in celebration of my cousin's wedding today.

I entered some secret squirrel sleuthing to find out roughly what the wedding colours might be, and apparently peach was a good way to go!

So I went with ombré peach to create this shaker card for the new Mr and Mrs:

I used the O in the LOVE cover plate to add some bronze(ish) sequins for a shaker element (bronze also being a tip-off in my super secret squirrel sleuthing) and mounted the card on an off-white Bristol card base.

For the main sentiments in the Stories of Love set, I tried out some other darker embossing powders first, but nothing sparkles quite like that Wow Platinum Sparkle embossing powder, which is why it's my favourite!

Inside the card, I used a sentiment from an old Waltzing Mouse stamp set. It was just the right size to leave space to write our message.

Finally, I needed to make a box envelope for the card, so grabbed some kraft cardstock, my envelope punchboard and decorated the outside with the same Ampersand from the Stories of Love set, and personalised it with the bride and groom's initials using the Julieta Alpha from Pinkfresh Studio.

As a finishing touch, I added small tassels from The Greetery, and a bow from The Stamp Market's Presents die set.
