In an attempt to bolster my "everyday" card stockpile and make a dent in my stash of patterned papers, I'm playing along (well rather belatedly) with a sort of colour challenge by my virtual crafty pal and fellow local, Julie Kirk.
Inspired by her absolute love of baseball, Julie has created a series of 30 baseball cards that also serve as a great colour challenge for those of us who love crafting, but aren't necessarily baseball aficionados.
Here's the "prompt" for Julie's Baseball Cards #1:
So, basically yellow and blue.
Not my everyday comfort zone, but what started out as a birthday card quickly morphed into a baby card:
Paper: Crate Paper - Garden Party, Crate Paper - Parasol

I covered my card base in diagonal yellow striped paper from the Garden Party collection. I cut the blue B-side paper from the Parasol collection out with the largest diagonal stitched rectangle die from Pinkfresh Studio, then cut out the inside with the Scalloped Window Frame die from The Stamp Market, backing it with some ledger paper from an old Crate Paper collection that was just the right fit.
Then I found the giraffe ephemera in the Spring Fling collection from Pebbles that were just the perfect fit for that window, and that's when this became a baby card.
I stamped the Hello Bluebird sentiment on a white Pretext Banner from The Greetery.
Cut the heart from the same blue paper.
Then to bring everything together, I stamped the "Sweet Baby sentiment and on the cream and limestone Tiny Tags star and added a yellow enamel dot as a finishing touch.
