DCM - February elemental inspiration

Good morning!

Over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, it's the turn of Enfys to set the monthly Elemental Inspiration challenge, and she picked this fab image:

The elements that inspired my card were the leafy background, florals, diamond in the rug, and the mix of pink and the colours:

Paper: Basic Grey - Hillside (r)
Stamps: The Stamp Market - Eat Cake, The Stamp Market - The Flower Shop
Dies: The Stamp Market - Eat Cake, The Stamp Market - The Flower Shop, The Greetery - Crimped Frame, Waffle Flower - Nesting Diamonds

As soon as I saw this image, I immediately thought of an old Basic Grey collection that I had in my stash, because it includes a print that's very similar to that leafy wallpaper.

And lo and behold this collection also include some peachy tones so that paper provided a nice contrast to the green leaves.

I used a crimped frame die to cut the leaf paper, and provide that added edge detail.

The diamonds were cut with Waffle Flower dies, matting a piece of slate cardstock behind the aperture to make that frame really stand out.

And then it was time for some stamping of random leafy and floral elements from The Stamp Market Flower Shop set, just mounting the stamps on clear blocks and not using the Misti for this job.

I managed to arrange the flowers so that I could still add a die-cut sentiment to the centre, and it wouldn't get lost among everything.

And hey presto, card made!
