This is the last of the card assembly projects using up old DIY backgrounds. I still have a good few backgrounds to use up, but this one was the last to be picked for now. ;)
Stamps: Hello Bluebird - Banner Buddies, Neat & Tangled - Scandinavian Prints (r)
Dies: MFT - Square Peek-a-Boo Window, Pinkfresh Studio - Diagonal Stitched Rectangles
The background for this card was created using the now retired Scandinavian Prints stamp set from Neat & Tangled. This set included optional dies and two stencil designs. I only bought the stamp set, but did borrow the dot stencil from a friend when I was creating this background at a crop.
The matching stencils enable you to create an almost wallpaper like background as the solid dots/flower heads are spaced evenly, and you just need to go in and add the details.
I used a mix of yellows, purples, and greys for the design that felt quite retro.
I didn't want to hide the design with a sentiment, so again went the aperture route using a stitched MFT window die and the diagonal stitched rectangle die from Pinkfresh Studio to add texture and contrast against the cream card blank.
Finally, I added a couple of enamel dots that were a good match for the purple tones to make the sentiment pop a little more. :)
