Happy weekend!
Last weekend while it was raining non-stop in this part of the world, I sat down to make the card I posted yesterday for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge, and promptly fell down the rabbit hole.
The challenge was all about creating cards where the focus was on the background.
It's almost to the day, around this time last year, that I spent some time playing with ink colour combos with a floral set and mason jar set so that I'd have elements at the ready when I needed to make a card.
Well, that embarrassingly large stack of elements (including some DIY backgrounds) have sat in a storage pocket waiting to be used until now...
Here's the first of those cards from my rainy weekend craft session:

Dies: Pinkfresh Studio - Modern Layered Floral, The Greetery - Just Mason Around, Mama Elephant - Sew Fancy (r)
The background for this card uses an ink smooshing technique which, if you're lucky, ends up looking like a watercolour wash.
It was created with a mix of yellow, pink, and orange dye inks.
One of the floral arrangements in my collection mirrored that colour combo nicely so I just picked out the aqua jar for a little contrast and finished off the card with a sentiment from The Stamp Market.
