This week over on the Daring Cardmaker's blog, Shabneez has challenged us to get creative with backgrounds.
Well, it probably looks like I went the super simple route compared to being flash with ink blending, stencils, etc., but turnabout stamps always end up being a more time-consuming task than they should for me.
I spend ages dithering over which 4 colours to use, and really, these stamps would only be time-savers for me if I was in full on production line assembly!
So here's my rather clean and simple interpretation:
Stamps: Mama Elephant - Mini Everyday Messages, Concord & 9th - Let's Party Turnabout
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Large cross-stitched square stackables, The Stamp Market - Presents, The Stamp Market - Tiny Tags
I used 4-colour combo of inks from The Stamp Market that I'd pinned to my colour palette Pinterest board. They are quite neutral colours, so good for a male birthday card too I think.
I used the same colours in cardstock to die cut the presents, and simply added a sentiment on one of the "gift" tags. The Mini Everyday Messages from Mama Elephant are pretty handy as there are quite a few sentiments in this set that are on two lines, so can fit on little tags without any creative workarounds.
