DCM - Say It Loud

Good morning!

It's my turn to set the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week, so what better excuse to showcase something that will feature on most cards you make.

The sentiment!

It needs to be the star of the show, featured front and centre, and really stand out from any other elements you use on your card.

I've actually got two almost identical cards to share for this challenge.

I wanted to go the clean and simple route to use up all the outline pieces I cut with the Pieces of My Heart die from The Stamp Market for my 16 rainbow-coloured hearts earlier this year.

They were already backed with Stick-It so no reason to throw them away. Much better to create a colourful background design.

This first one uses the shades that were at the primary end of the spectrum:

While the next card uses the heart outlines in a softer colour palette:

I quite liked this combination of colours together.

Both cards feature the Lots of Love word die cut from silver glitter paper and mounted on white using the outline die from the same set.

One tip I found was to run the background panel through my Big Shot with a rectangle die to trim off the hearts rather than cutting with scissors, as this has the added benefit of pushing the hearts into the cardstock, so they are adhered evenly and look much cleaner. :)

I still have a few more cards to share using the Pieces of My Heart dies, I just need to get my blog posts drafted. ;)
