This weekend I spent a little time in assembly mode on some card projects I'd begun the weekend before.
The original idea I'd had was to make a card with the Sending You die and use a different colour of cardstock for each letter of "Sending".
Well, since I was already going to pass this die through the Big Shot at least seven times to accomplish that, I thought it'd make sense to make seven cards while I was at it. ;)
This first one is for the January card challenge over on UK Scrappers - I've gone for something new (Mama Elephant frame), something old (the Phrase Play set), and something blue as my three elements:
Stamps: Flora & Fauna - Brush Birthday, PTI - Phrase Play #6 (r), WPlus9 - Big Top background
Dies: PTI - Phrase Play #6 (r), Mama Elephant - Oval Deco Frame, Neat & Tangled - Scored Shapes (r)
The rainbow of cardstock colours is from The Stamp Market. I used the corresponding ink colours and the Flora & Fauna brushstroke stamp to colour in the white cardstock for the labels before stamping the sentiments on them.
Once the Sending You panels were done, I needed to find a way to present them on a card.
And as luck would have it, a few days later my order from Seven Hills Crafts arrived in the post - which included the new Oval Deco Frame dies from Mama Elephant.
I cut seven card bases to stamp the Big Top background stamp from WPlus9 on using Merman ink on Aqua Mist cardstock for this particular card....
And then Sweet Mustard ink on white for the rest of the cards:
The yellow is a little vivid in these shots (winter daylight isn't the easiest to work with) but it really was a simple way to bring the elements together.
I just needed to add a little finishing touch on each card - a scored red heart.
Now I have a good few cards at the ready. My poor card basket was getting a little low on everyday cards.
