DCM - Frida Kahlo inspired

Good morning!

Svenja has a wonderful dare for us this week on the Daring Cardmakers blog - inspired by Frida Kahlo and all things Mexico.

I had an idea that immediately leapt into my head and I wanted to embrace the fiesta colour palette and use trim/fringe for added texture.

Here's what I made:

Stamp: The Stamp Market - Dotted Background
Dies: The Stamp Market - Hooray, MFT - Loopy Bloom (r)

To get that fringe trim look, I remembered that I had an old loopy flower die that could be adapted to this task. I just needed to cut the die-cuts down the middle to create two pieces of "trim" and armed with an array of colourful cardstock from The Stamp Market, I started assembling the background of my card.

I used the same colours for my die-cut sentiment that is nested in the fresh pink dotted background and mounted on gold glitter paper.

Finally, I added some green pompom trim from an old Crate Paper Christmas collection - I've obviously been hanging onto it all these years just waiting for this project. ;)
