DCM - CAS with a dash of sparkle

Good morning!

I've finally managed to briefly make it back to my craft desk in time for the new challenge from Dawn over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.

Dawn has challenged us to make a clean and simple card with a dash of sparkle.

Well, I feel like I've been so out of the loop that my clean and simple isn't all that clean and simple today!

I had an idea in mind and it just snowballed a little (while I was listening to the last few chapters of Marian Keyes' Grown-ups (a great read by the way!) so my final project may not look that clean but it was pretty simple. ;)

I've also had to apologize to everyone that there won't be any Easter cards from me this year - just this virtual one. ;)

So how simple is simple?

Well I covered a card blank in the floral paper from Carta Bella's Flower Market collection.

I die cut the banner from the Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse pad, that gingham pattern was a great match.

Then I just stamped and coloured some of the elements from the Banner Buddies set by Hello Bluebird together with a companion sentiment from the Spring Blessings set.

And for added sparkle I used sequins and a touch of Wink of Stella on the florals - which can't really be seen in the photo.

I have the whole Easter weekend off, so I am very much hoping to get back in the swing of things, having made no cards for so long! If we end up with super sunny weather (unlikely at this point) then I may be basking with a book in the garden.

But my aim is to get my work desk turned back into my craft desk for the next few days and chip away at the product in my "new-not-used" supplies bin!

I hope you have a great long weekend despite the current circumstances. It really is a blessing to have all these things under my roof that can easily keep the mind busy, so I can just be in my little bubble.
