DCM - February elemental inspiration

Good morning!

Well, we've rolled round to the first Friday of the month, so it's time for a new elemental inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, this time set by Ruth:

Lots of interesting little details in that image and I immediately had something in mind.

The photo reminded me of a Christmas cookie stamp set I have from WPlus9 that would work for a non-Christmas card too.

I knew I wanted to use the stamps to create a background, so for a change this is card made completely without the aid of my Misti.

Wow, it's been a while!

I used my inks from The Stamp Market for the background, as the foam pads they use stamp a more solid impression without needing to re-ink and stamp again which you sometimes get with dye inks. I found it easier to use these ink pads when applying the stamp-to-pad inking technique rather than the ink-to-stamp technique you need with the Misti.

So yes, the cookies are a mix of two shades of pink plus Wink of Stella on the bit I left white.

I also wanted to keep some of the background to use in the aperture window where the bunny pops out.

I found the perfect sentiment to go with those sweet cookies in a set from Mama Elephant and added gold tape at the top and gold enamel dots for extra pop.
