DCM - Celebrating the Victorian Era

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers blog it's a right royal affair.

To celebrate the anniversary of Queen Victoria's birth, Shabneez has challenged us to celebrate the Victorian era or to pay homage to the queen herself.

Well, I was luckily enough to have some perfect items for the job in my stash!

I knew I still had a crown embellishment somewhere, and thankfully there was one last remaining one from Melissa Frances. I picked this and a few others up years and years ago back in Florida. Most handy!

I also found the perfect way to feature it on my card: one of the glittery standout stickers from Crate Paper's Willow Lane connection provided a great background. It's so hard to photograph glitter but believe me it looks lovely in real life.

The frame is from the ephemera pack and I backed it with some of the Darling paper which is almost a blush tone and has some paint splatter on it in places.

For extra texture I fringed the centre strip with my scissors.

I also found a very apt sentiment in the Birthday Messages set by Mama Elephant. That has set definitely paid off lately!
