Morning all!
It's hard to believe, but we've entered a brand new month so it's time for a new prompt for this year's card challenge.
This month we're focussing on all things texture!
I am sure we all have lots of embossing folders or texture plates in our collections, but texture comes in many forms that you can explore:
- Heat embossing provides a lovely raised texture and can also be used in resist techniques with water colours and inks
- Cardstock can come ready embossed - I know I have quite a few Swiss dot sheets of Bazzill hanging about from back in the day! Even watercolour cardstock can add just the right amount of texture to your project.
- Real stitching, whether by hand or machine, adds a lovely finishing touch to any project or could be the main focus of your card
- Stencils and texture paste can be a great way to introduce patterns and mixed media effects
- Fabric, felt, lace, and jute can be the perfect contrast to smooth paper and card
There are lots of options to choose from and I'm sure there will be some that haven't even entered my head!
Happy crafting!
