A little Cornish blue inspiration

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers blog it was my turn to set the dare after several weeks of absence.

My mojo up and left on holiday sometime in March and then I was off down in Cornwall last week for a lovely family holiday.

I'm hoping the change of scenery has done me some good especially because this week's challenge is inspired by the lovely blues of Cornwall.

I do love a nice Cornishware blue stripe and of course those gorgeous indigo fabric prints (often found in Seasalt where I only bought one new shopper bag this time!).

So here's my card using a DIY Cornish blue stripe:

Stamps: Mama Elephant - Brush Strokes, Winnie & Walter - Sending You
Dies: Sizzix - Animal Portraits, Lil' Inker Designs - Stitched Circles
Other: embossing powder, Nuvo drops, 3D foam tape, MISTI

 

I had originally had more of a beach theme in mind for the background I created with the two long brush stroke stamps from Mama Elephant and my trusty MISTI platform. There's just no way I'd get those stripes looking quite as uniform without one... but in the end I had an idea for where this card could go and the Animal Portraits dies came out! :)

I hope the little person who receives this likes it and their surprise gift.
