Warm Woolen Mittens

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers blog, our festive countdown continues.

Our theme this week is to feature winter clothing on your card, so warm woollen mittens, a scarf, boots, even ice skates and a funky Christmas sweater would do the job. In fact I might need to revisit this challenge to incorporate some ice skate stickers I've had in my stash for a while!

That is, if I can locate them!

But my first outing this week includes the winter essentials, warm mittens, a scarf and a bobble hat:

I definitely wanted to incorporate some texture into this card, so even though it was rather flat originally, there would still be a bit of interest in the design - so the Stitches cover plate was ideal for adding those different stitch patterns to the sky background and my trusty Memory Box landscape die had to feature, of course, as did one of Mama Elephant's stitched landscape dies which are just perfect for adding snow drifts.

But my card looked just too flat and boring, so I added a pop of colour and bling at the top with the scalloped silver glitter border and the warm woollen mittens button and twine.

I think the snowman looked a bit more jolly once that was done. ;)
