November elemental inspiration

Can you believe we're already in November??

Well, as the first Friday of a new month it's time for a brand new elemental inspiration challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.

Here's our photo for this month:

 

You need to pick three separate elements to interpret on your card project.

I was inspired by the woodgrain texture contrasting with the dark background. I also thought those large glass domes and candle holders could be interpreted as a snow globe, and of course I had to include festive berries and foliage!

Paper and chipboard accents: MME - Comfort and Joy (r)
Stamps and dies: WPlus9 - Merry & Bright (r)
Other: Stickles, Distress Stickles, 3D foam tape

Any excuse to get out the lovely Merry & Bright stamp and die set from WPlus9, it's one of my favourites as it includes these 2 and 3-step sprigs of pine and berries. They add so much detail in such an easy way. For extra pop I added Stickles to the berries in red, plus Stickles on the Marquee light "bulbs", and what may be the last of my Distress Stickles around the aperture. Hadn't realised most of the bottle was used up!

I do like the contrast in texture and look Distress Stickles can provide, it's just difficult to get them these days without having to place a largeish order to get inexpensive postage. I will have to add replacements to my shopping list.
