Evening folks!
I am posting the July prompts a little early as I have a new card project to share on my blog tomorrow for the latest Daring Cardmakers challenge. :)
I found this lovely collection of images on Pinterest and thought it offered up lots of possibilities for card projects:
In addition to using that gorgeous shade of blue with accent colours, on its own or in direct contrast to white there are lots of other ideas you can take from this prompt:
- Geometric prints and repeat patterns
- Bold tribal designs - these are so on trend right now in paper lines
- Using a the square element of image 3 as a sketch
- Good old bold chevron designs
- Zentangle, doodled backgrounds
- Tiles of different patterns or a patchwork of different papers
- The rule of thirds and threes like the flower vases in image 10
- Set the scene - image 11 would make a lovely card - you could hang the sentiment on the door
- Image 12 reminds me of retro designs and lines
- Image 13 reminds me of delftware patterns and indeed folk prints, whether monochrome or white or a whole host of colours
And then onto our Christmas prompt:
- I think this image would look fantastic translated into a shaker card
- Love that aqua glitter background - you could also make a dimensional card with the winter landscape border die layered up in front of the glittery sky
- Non-traditional festive colours, look at all the lovely shades of those baubles
- Bold font choices
- A greeting in white - wouldn't that look great on a chalkboard background?
Well I hope those ideas give you a good kick start. :)
Happy crafting!
