How about a little bit of spring in crafty form?
It's gloriously sunny today, but it was chucking it down yesterday.
So it was the perfect excuse for me to sit down and give some of my gorgeous new Altenew Vintage Flowers stamps a test spin - and while I was at it I wanted to play along with the April Make the Day Special challenge.
It's a tic-tac-toe challenge using any line from this selection:
I went with stripes (of course!), die cuts and feminine as my elements. :)
Paper: MME, Crate Paper, Teresa Collins
Stamps: Altenew, PTI
Dies: Altenew, MFT, Lil' Inker Designs, Mama Elephant
Enamel dots: MME
Other: Adirondack and Hero Arts dye inks, 3D foam
So, those Vintage Flowers eh?
Fwoar!
I am super impressed with the end results. I ended up stamping them on my stash of SU white cardstock which has a coating on it that Bazill Cardshoppe and PTI doesn't and the ink took to it better than my stamping on the usual cardstock I use. I was pleasantly surprised that I will be using that SU white cardstock after all! :D
I went with the tip of starting with the darkest ink first and then building it up - the reverse to how I have been doing 3-step stamping with WPlus9 and PTI sets, and the tip sheets on the Altenew website for what to line up on the flowers were very handy, I have saved them to my phone for quick reference in future. :)
I am always a sucker for the Mountain Rose and Salmon pink combo, and using Red Pepper as the darkest tone really made those colours pop. Lettuce is still one of my favourite green inks - it is just the right shade of green for leaves.
I also used my favourite frame die for cardmaking - the fab Lil' Inkers that I will never tire of using! I love the stitched detail on the gold foil paper.
And to finish off the feminine accents, out came the Mama Elephant dainty bow! Best bow purchase ever!
I'm really looking forward to playing with the other Altenew 3-step stamping sets I bought - and will definitely be adding to my Altenew die collection when the Vintage Roses dies come into stock again. :D If only they made dies for the Painted Flowers stamps, I'd snap those up too - I am not a fussy cutter, dies are my friend when it comes to flowers!
Anyway, I suppose I'd best get the hoover out and switch to spring cleaning mode even though I know what I'd rather be doing!
great card...love the vintage flowers
