I shared a couple of cards from my recent Hey Little Magpie blog post on Instagram yesterday and since yesterday's out-takes on my blog were all about the I Am collection from Simple Stories, it's time for the Fancy That collection from My Mind's Eye to take centre stage today! :oD
I think this card is probably my favourite that I made - I just love it when things come together and having the perfect greeting combo (the fab Seriously Awesome die and stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs) is just the icing on the cake - as soon as I saw the diamond gold-foiled die-cuts in the ephemera pack I knew where my greeting would be going!

Look how gorgeous all that gold is against the lovely pink tones! All the papers are from the 6x6 pad, including the black I used to cut the die, it was a scrap left-over from another project and was just perfect here.
I really like the journaling cards in this line, because if you don't need the wedding-related content on the A-side, there's a really versatile B-side like this diagonal stripe. I used one of the fab stitched circle dies from my trusty Lil' Inker set (which gets used A LOT) to create an aperture for the gold-foiled diamond. I just love how the stitching runs around the outside of the cut line so you can create some rather fancy aperture accents too.
So yeah, not the most complicated card, but it's definitely one that stands out. :oD
There's another diamond die-cut in the ephemera pack, so I will definitely be creating a counterpart to this card. ;o)
