Where has the time gone of late?
I've been meaning to share my January card projects for Hey Little Magpie since last weekend but failed to do so.
The original blog post can be found here. :)
And here are the products used from the store:
And here are the projects:
Paper: Crate Paper, AC glitter paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Die: Avery Elle
Other: funky foam, MM border strip
I totally love this particular patterned paper, a great A-side and B-side! And the Love die is fab cut from gold glitter paper and funky foam.
Next I wanted to feature a bit of negative die-cutting with the word die, a bit like the look of veneer journaling cards:
Paper: Crate Paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Dies: Avery Elle, WPlus9
Other: 3D foam
I love the look of the negative die-cut word against a darker background, and the gold accents on the chipboard are just lovely.
Next up a card featuring another of the Simply Said Avery Elle dies:
Paper: Crate Paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Enamel dots: Simple Stories, MME
Dies: Avery Elle, Lil' Inker Designs, Lawn Fawn, Paper Smooches
Other: 3D foam, pink vellum
The greeting wasn't standing out very well against the black and white background so I cut a strip of pink vellum and used the stitch dies by Paper Smooches to add a row of stitching to the top and bottom. The vellum is adhered with glue hidden behind the chipboard and enamel dots.
I used the hello die for a little notelet too. Couldn't resist the bold paper on a smaller card:
Paper: Crate Paper
Dies: Avery Elle, Lawn Fawn
Other: 3D foam
I really like the aperture created with a speech bubble and the matching sentiment is stuck to the inside. :)
And now for a few cards that are more heartfelt. ;o)
Paper: Crate Paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Dies: MFT, Mama Elephant, Lil' Inker Designs
Stamps: MFT, Dear Lizzy
Enamel dots: Freckled Fawn
Other: 3D foam
I covered the original sentiment on the chipboard so I could use it for something a little less Valentine-y.
This one is a personal favourite - as soon as I saw the Love Life paper and all the colour swatches in it.... an ombre effect:
Paper: Crate Paper
Die: Lil' Inker Designs
Stamp: WPlus9
Enamel dots: MME
Very simple, but I just love the look of the different shades together, and the little hearts were all scored before gluing them down so they lift off the card a bit.
Another card using my favourite floral print paper in the line:
Paper: Crate Paper, AC glitter paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Stamp: Wplus9
Dies: Lil' Inker Designs, Lawn Fawn
Other: 3D foam
The frame is simply created with two of the rectangle stitched dies nested. Very handy! And I was still on my little folded heart kick so added a teeny one here for good measure.
And finally, a card that is 100% Valentine's Day related!
Paper: Crate Paper
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Die: Spellbinders
Star: Elle's Studio
Enamel dots: Simple Stories
The little Love Hearts in the chipboard set are a great touch. I mixed them up a bit and added a little star die-cut I had left-over from Christmas combined with some enamel dots. Very handy!
And that's it for January's projects. I now need to start thinking about February's. :) But first, perhaps it's time for a little crafting this evening.
Heart card is my fave too, although i love them all :)
