Over on the DCM blog this week we are welcoming in a new colour challenge to kick off the month!
Gez chose this lovely combo:
Aquas and red - what's not to love?
Sadly my card did not turn out at all as I expected. The ink dried another colour on my white cardstock compared to how it looked in my swatch book... looks like I'll need to make a new swatch with white cardstock this time!
Anyhoo, I'm missing the deep cream shade, buuuut the red striped paper does contain cream rather than white. ;o)
I've also come to the sad realisation that photographing projects around work hours is over for 2014 - the light on a morning is just too poor so will have to get very organized from now on and have projects ready to photograph at the weekend again. Gulp!
But anyway, here's the best pic I could manage before heading out to work:
Paper: Crate Paper, Simple Stories
Dies: Memory Box, Lawn Fawn, WPlus9
Stamps: WPlus9
Enamel dots: MME
Other: 3D foam, Stickles
Sigh, this card was definitely going to look a lot different, but once I started making it it morphed into something else and well... I'm sure I'll do better next time! LOL
Such a shame as the colour palette is just up my street but having been totally swamped with work and things this week my brain power and creative energy have been pretty low. However there is no work work on the horizon this weekend and I plan to get better acquainted with some of my recent purchases. ;o)
I think you are being rather hard on yourself - I think the card is fab and fits the colours perfectly. Have fun this weekend unwinding and enjoying your new bits and bobs
