This week on the Daring Cardmakers blog Lythan has set a very special dare.
Kathy has been the backbone of our Daring Cardmakers group for as long as I can remember - she keeps everything running, keeps us all organised, and keeps everyone inspired!
Lythan has invited us all to create a card inspired by Kathy.
Well, what immediately springs to mind when I think of Kathy's cards is her fantastic use of handmade flowers. She's a whiz with her Silhouette too and uses lots of lovely swirly design elements that always look so effortlessly placed.
Well I thought I would go for the DIY flowers and a bit of leafy swirlyness, granted I cheated and used dies, but hey, I've got to get that look one way or another! hehe
Paper: MME, Studio Calico
Dies: PTI, MFT
Stamps: Lawn Fawn
Journaling card: Crate Paper
Resin flower: Crate Paper
Bling: Prima
Other: 3D foam, sewing machine
The little rolled roses are finished off with bling and pearls in the centre. I used some foam tape under some of the leaves and the sentiment strip just to add a bit of dimension. And this colour palette really reminds me of Kathy as she made so many lovely cards with a release from MME called Miss Caroline. :)
Well, I'll leave to you enjoy the inspiration over on Kathy's blog and from my fellow Daring Cardmakers. :)
Happy crafting!
