My oh my, this past week has flown by.
I'd hoped to have some Christmas pics to share with you, but most of them are still on my cameras and phone.
However, I think I am almost up-to-date with my little Deck the Halls festive fun.
We go back, back, back to Day 18....
Those pretty authentic Russian Matryoshka dolls depicting lovely winter scenes. The pic doesn't do them justice, and the gold paint sparkles so beautifully in the afternoon light that hits my folky shelf.
Day 19...
A trip back to the Christmas trees of my childhood - we had a fantastic set of lights by Pifco called Tutti Frutti lights, each light had a different cover on it. But alas the original string of lights broke some time in the 90s. This year my dad swapped out the covers on one of the remaining old-school colour light sets we still have and despite a few dropping off now and then, we have our Tutti Frutti lights back - including this lovely Cinderella carriage.
Day 20...
I managed to finally snap my lovely little M&S Rudolph decoration while madly wrapping and packing - he is very cute with his little bell hooves and very pointy nose!
Day 21...
This little lady came to live with me last Christmas as I received her from the 3 lovely girls I spent last weekend with. They know me well!
Day 22...
I was away from home and looking forward to our very special outing on the Polar Express - but first, I needed to take a pic to share. This lovely decoration came live from Zoe's Christmas tree - one of my favourites. :D
Day 23...
As predicted by Zoe, it had to be this lovely shiny new bell that Santa gave us on the Polar Express!
Day 24...
While I was sat at the Wigilia table I was able to get this lovely snap of one of my favourite of all our traditional and very vintage Polish baubles. It's so simple, but I just love how beautifully painted it is. You can tell the quality and standards of the time - I'm not sure how many of today's baubles would still be hanging around in 50 years time!
Day 25...
It was time to wish everyone a happy Christmas - and as the back drop I used a photo of the ginormous bauble my mum got my dad this year - it came all the way from Poland this summer wrapped in many a layer of bubble wrap and tissue paper! Needless to say you can't miss it on their tree!
Day 26...
Still at my mum and dad's, I was able to admire these lovely handmade decorations that my cousin's wife had created. The stitching on the star ornament is just beautiful. :)
Day 27...
Back home, and I realised I'd not yet shared this new one from my mum. He's now hanging from the mantelpiece but I'm wondering where to put him next year. :)
Day 28...
Back to the mantelpiece we go... and this lovely toadstool ornament. Plus one of my favourite red and white ornaments in the collection is just behind it. Pretty!
Day 29... today!
Popped into my mum and dad's for cheese and crackers, and a cheeky slice of cake - although we've still not opened the Christmas cake! I took the opportunity of snapping this little fella. He's a very jolly birdie.
