We have a very special month ahead of us over on the Daring Cardmakers blog - it's hard to believe but we're celebrating seven years of weekly cardmaking challenges. And although I've not been on the Design Team since day one, I've definitely been playing along with those weekly posts of inspiration for a good many years. :o)
Well, to celebrate in style we have some lovely guest designers who will be joining us through the month, plus lots of lovely sponsors who have offered up some fab prizes to celebrate our birthday.
We're kicking off our celebrations with our colour challenge and have this lovely pic as inspiration - a real medley of rainbow shades on a very apt theme:
The design team was lucky enough to be supplied with two border punches by DoCrafts - a ribbon bow and poinsettia design. We have one set of each to give away plus a very lovely prize from The Ribbon Girl - a £10 voucher to spend in their lovely shop! Lovely prizes I'm sure you'll agree!
So as we were sent one of each punch to play with, we've come up with not just a birthday card to share, but also something on a Christmas theme that also matches the colours in the image.
Here's my birthday card using the ribbon bow punch:
Border punch: DoCrafts
Paper: Crate Paper - The Pier
Stamp: MFT
Other: pearls, sewing machine
To get the colour match on the bunting, I die cut little triangles from this particular sheet from the Pier pad:
Much easier than trying to match it with cardstock. ;o)
And for my Christmas number, well I was pretty sure I had some appropriately bright and rainbow-like paper from Crate again:
Border punch: DoCrafts
Paper: Crate Paper
Sticker: Crate Paper
Dies: Sizzix, MFT
Stamp: PTI
Pearl: Kaisercraft
I think that's suitably bright and zingy for a Christmas outing!
Well, I hope you manage to check out the Daring Cardmakers blog and also join in with the celebrations!
Clever idea for the pennants :) Those cards are both perfectly rainbow and perfectly you - bright and beautiful and polished looking!
