I was looking at an informative thread on Two Peas the other day about photo apps people use.
Well I already have a few that I really like - Instagram my default quick choice, then PicTapGo as I already have RadLab so like the familiarity and features, Pic Stitch for collages, and Hipstamatic that I like for some photos types of shots but success of this app depends on how sunny it is in my opinion - I am still learning with this app.
However I've been on the look out for something to add borders and text and other bits and bobs to phone/iPad photos and hadn't realised Elsie Flannigan/Larson had released a nice little app that does just this thing - it's called A Beautiful Mess like her blog.
So, I had a little play with it and really like it - will be checking out the blog for more ideas on combining elements, but I like the fonts and doodles:
I ended up adding on some speech bubbles that you could fill with colour:
(apologies to my brother on sharing this and his love of lasagne)
And just tried out the borders and filters on this sneak peek of my cards for next week:
It looks like new add-ons might get offered up on a regular basis which is nice so will see how this app fits into my photo-taking fun.
The other app I started using this past week is the DayOne journal app which was recommended in a Project Life article I read. I'm not doing Project Life at the moment, keep considering it, but I can definitely see how this would be handy, especially on holiday. I've been recording a pic and quick thought every day this week now and I rather like it. I love how it immediately syncs between your devices and I am just a visual person really, so I can see how quick it would be to find the date and info you need regarding an event or photo when scrapping it later down the line.
Anyway, that's it on the apps this week! I'd best get a shuffle on as I am heading up for north for a lovely weekend with my Goddaughter and her mum. I'll no doubt be putting those apps to good use too!
Sue saw this app & now we both have it :) isn't it fab!

Indeed, I have already been busy tapping away and adding text, doodles and borders on the most boring of pics. But it's real fun!
