Welcome to a new month and the first prompt of February.
As it's the month of love I expect we will have a few "love" inspired prompts coming our way.
This weekend I had a resort of my stash cupboard, in particular my patterned paper stash! Not just because I needed to make room for some new additions but because it had been bugging me for some time that there were so many pretty papers in there that I'd been neglecting and just couldn't reach them on a creative level - a bit like not seeing the wood for the trees... ;o) Anyway, all that's now changed and I have a very organised and nicely pruned patterned paper collection to play with now.
So this week's prompt is somewhat inspired by the discoveries I made during the epic paper reorganization of 2013!
This week's theme is all about giving some love to some old or neglected purchases.
Breathe some new life into your stash and re-love it by putting it to good use.
I had quite a few papers from October Afternoon kept in their entirety by collection - but I couldn't really envisage using them while the papers that I wasn't too keen on were still grouped with the papers I liked. So the unloved papers are going to a new home and now that it's just the re-loved papers grouped together I see so much more potential for using them and combining them with other product.
Here's the card I made - which includes re-loved October Afternoon stamps and a squidgy embellishment along with some other old papers:
Paper: October Afternoon, Luxe, Scenic Route
Stamps: October Afternoon, PTI
Dies: MFT
Embellishment: October Afternoon
Other: 3D foam, sewing machine, pearls
It was all rather liberating as before I probably would have felt constrained to use just papers from the same collection together as sometimes that always seems "easier" - but when you wheedle it down to just the patterns you really like then there is much more scope for mixing and matching with other lines.
I wonder what stash rediscoveries you'll make! I can't wait to see the results. :)
Here's my card for Week 6. I actually finished before the end of the week! http://journalingbylizzie.blogspot.com/2013/02/52-week-card-challenge-week-6.html
