So, here's my Christmas card based on the prompt for week 2 of the 52 Cards Challenge. :)
The clean and simple style could be a blessing when it comes to making your Christmas cards, but it certainly isn't quick when you want to bring a full on glitter fest into the equation!
Here's what I made:
Paper: Echo Park, MME
Dies: MFT, PTI
Glitter: Coarse glitter by Martha Stewart
Other: 3D foam
So, it might not be too clear on the photo, but the whole front of the card is raised up on 3D foam including the inside of the "e" in "merry". Now that was a bit of a challenge - finding the tiniest foam squares I had!
The snowflake die from MFT (and a lovely Christmas present from my friend Ang) was die cut from a cream chipboard coaster, liberally coated in glue, then had a good few ounces of Martha Stewart coarse glitter dumped onto it and was left to dry for a day or so!
I tell you, you need to be organized when it comes to wet glue glittering... I think I will need recommendations for fast drying wet glue that really holds coarse glitter well but doesn't warp your cardstock. I am sure there is glitter in every corner of my craft area right now...
But it was worth it - the end result is most glittery indeed!
I plan to finish off the inside with a "Merry Christmas" stamp - Christmas cannot be merry enough in my opinion! ;o)
