This week's dare over on the DCM blog is very exciting... I can't wait to see what people do with it, because the inspiration comes from books... and you know what a bookworm I am!
Well I must confess I didn't know where I was going to go with this dare, as I really wanted to do something regency-esque as an homage to all those flipping regency era hist-ro books I have been devouring of late...
But no... my mojo went into another direction.
Back, back, back... to my childhood and one of my favourite books (although I can't find a picture of the edition I had, it was a rather vivid pink cover - very 1970s!)...
Oh hang on, the wonders of google have found it:
I wonder if it's still somewhere at my mum and dad's as the "other nonsense" in there was rather entertaining as well but I can't quite remember what it was...
But anyway, back on track, here is my creation inspired by the above tale for someone who is growing up way too fast:
Paper and stickers: Echo Park
Rub-ons: Prima - Nancy Kubo
Journaling card: Prima - Nancy Kubo
Die: Sizzix
Other: White gel pen
Those Mommy and Me rub-ons are so cute... so much so I just had to decorate the inside too...
I hope the birthday girl will like it when she gets it....
Happy creating!
I love this, Nat - the design is so bright and graphic - just perfect. I have a very soft spot for Edward Lear too.
Years ago I stayed at the Edward Lear hotel in London - very quirky with lots of EL memorabilia around. Don't know if it's still there or what it's like these days though

Gorgeous bright card, I am sure the birthday girl will love it. I remember those bright illustrations of the 70's. Thanks for sharing
