What a start to the week at work... it made me wish for a nice long drink when I got home...
I decided to treat myself to a DIY smoothie and check out the blender on my lovely little Bosch food processor/mixer. I really wish I could have a nice frozen daiquiri or something naughty a la the TGIF's Hawaiian Surfer... but I have given up alcohol and chocolate for lent so had to keep it clean and healthy! ;o)
A bit of fat free yogurt, 1 banana, a couple of strawberries and some frozen raspberries made for a very filling snack and post-dinner treat. I seriously need some Slimming World-friendly recipes... I want to keep the fruit to the amount I'd have in 1 day so that I don't have to strictly stick to their pureed fruit = syns rule. So any tips or recipes let me know!
I did see one recipe online that called for a tablespoon of peanut butter... could be interesting.
Am on the look out for frozen tropical fruits like Pineapple and mango... do any supermarkets stock the former in particular? I picked up some forest fruits, raspberry and blueberry packs today that were on offer, but no sign of anything a bit more exotic...
At least I can keep up on my five a day this way and it feels very summery to be having fresh smoothies...
Right, off to channel surf and see if I can get into my current read... decided to give the Jane Green a whirl!
Mmm, frozen fruit smoothie drinks are the best!
I picked up some frozen mango from Tescos the other day. 1 pack £1.95(or near) or 3 for £5 if that's any help!

I add spinach & some porridge oats to my fruit smoothies. I know, sounds weird, but you can't taste the spinach & it adds some good vitamins, plus the oats add some fibre so it's good all round :D

Excellent, I shall be on the look out for those in Tesco - Sainsbury's has the same deal on and I can really recommend their black forest fruits selection - mega lush!
I have frozen spinach that I add to pasta and other stuff, will that do ok Jools? I can't really add oats without having to count them as a syn... but I have Oat-based cereal for breakfast so hopefully am doing fine for fibre. ;o)
