At last, today it actually felt like summer - even with the little spot of spitting rain... man it was one fine day!
I managed to somehow sleep in until 10:30 - a total rarity, and I hope that's sorted out my weird sleep patterns. Then I was off for a quick shopping trip with Ma:
And it was rather successful, and not too expensive!
First up a trip to Matalan just to see if there was anything at all worth a browse. I managed to pick up a couple of cute t-shirts (at last - where has the cuteness in suitable colours been this summer??) I have a lovely Little Miss Trouble t-shirt and a pink blinging one as well as a nice little summer cardi in black that can be chucked over vest tops and the like (once I finally purchase some).
Hit the make-up counters in Superdrug for some mousse blush as any other blush I own is just too powdery and a bit too obvious on me, so am trying this out the Maybelline one.
Plus at last a concealer for the dark circles under my eyes!
I don't know why they won't disappear, but I have been plagued by dark circles of late. I used to have a fantastic one from Models Prefer, but then decided to try Touch Eclat by YSL - big mistake, huge! It wasn't cheap and it totally stank, I wonder if I got a dodgy one, but it just smelt something awful after about a week of owning it - as though it'd gone off, and when I put it on my skin it was even worse, made me gag. So that went in the bin.
Anyway, this Bourgeois one uses the same principle as both those concealers, and smells nice, plus I love Bourgeois - still ticked off that you can't get their auburn mascara over here, designed specifically for us redheads. I had to stock up on it in France it was that good!
Then at last Red Herring... Ma got a few vest tops in the sale £3 each and they are just lovely. I want some, but alas they were running very low on 18s today in anything at that particular Debenhams. I will definitely have to try and check them out this week now that I am armed with my cardi. BUT I did manage to purchase something from Red Herring.
TWO gorgeous watches. The photos don't do them justice, but they were both half price, so I paid £25 for the two of them. One is pistachio green and has such a lovely pearly green face, very swish. The other has a gorgeous butterfly design that I spotted in a red and an olive watch but they were full price. Then on the sales table I saw the pink version - well it just had to be and I snapped it up pronto! So my Kool Kitty Fossil watch may be having a little holiday for a few weeks. :o)
However, half way through the Red Herring browsing I noticed the time and had to leg it home for my driving lesson.
And it was a fab lesson, a lovely drive over to the coast for our humongous lemon tops (they seem to no longer make orange or raspberry tops - bizarre) and we parked up near the sand dunes and watched the para-boarders or whatever they're called gusting along at sea... and the sand-carters on the beach. Then pootled back home. And no BMWs that jumped right out this time! Just had to deal with the 70s revellers on their way to the big open air 70s concert... one guy in his afro was hilarious, his hair was bigger than the rest of him, all you could see was hair with a pair of legs attached!
Anyway, I've basically done nothing crafty today as you can imagine... I have a couple of films to watch but am listening to Paula Cole's new CD right now, love the track called 14.
oh I love a new time piece :D glad the Matalan trip was successful - phew, don't want a telling off for duff advice!
