Blimey where have the past 4 days gone??
A lot of time has been spent sifting things for the tip/recycling/charity/relocation to the loft.... and some interesting finds have been revealed. Alas still no sign of my stash of Ladybird books - it's a complete mystery!
But - two surviving members of my My Little Pony collection turned up:
But some interesting things we'd totally forgotten about until now turned up and I spent a lot of yesterday scanning in some photos and slides we found and taking an age to correct about 10 so I could send them off for printing.
So some embarrassing/cute/you choose adjective childhood shots - not just of me, but my little brother... for some reason he thought the shot of him was hilarious... little does he know!
Ahhh... a garden on a hill did not make for optimum paddling pool filling it has to be said (note unique engineering concept using pegs and string to keep the sides up).... one of the photos gone for reprint to be scrapped along with my own embarrassing shot:
The epitome of multitasking.... erm... What I love about this shot, and what seriously freaked me out, is that I have my grandma's pout down to a tee in this photo and with the curly hair I look like a right moody pants. LOL It's very bizarre that in a lot of my pre 3 years old shots I look the spitting image of my grandma in my facial features and expressions, then I look more like my dad for a while, and now apparently I have a lot of my mum's features about me... strange.... whereas my brother hasn't changed all that much at all.
Oh and of the less embarrassing shots, there was a box of slides with my shots of ma and pa and also of my mum in her twenties doing her screen siren poses. This one I spent a while getting rid of all the dust and scratches as they are in quite a state, but it reminds me of the cover of a Simon and Garfunkel album (their original greatest hits cassette from the early 80s which got nicked along with the car one year... ho-hum) - it's the criss cross fencing... but cool shot eh? And look at that hat and shades, very 2007!
The problem with slides tho - is that when you scan them in you have no idea if they are back to front or not...
Apart from hours of photoshopping and scanning I did manage to munch on a bit of choc:
So chocolate was rather yummy... and I have probably gained the 3 pounds I lost last week - oops...
I have also completed all the knitting bits of the Rooster bag, but I am just NOT getting on with Mattress stitch and can't do it. Have downloaded the clip from knittinghelp.com so will try again some time with that in front of me, just so I can say I have officially finished my bag! hehe
BUT I did start a variation of the Cathy Z felted bag on my circulars yesterday, not done any today so far as I had an assignment to do, but will get back to it - almost finished the base then I need to start picking up stitches, but nearly a whole ball of Rowan big wool for the base so far! Gulp...
